HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION
BOYS AND GIRLS- GRADES 9th-12th: (INDIVIDUAL TEAMS) REMIND: Text 81010 Send Message: @hsrugby26

Opportunity: This age group plays Rugby 15's which consists of 15 players from each team on the field, playing (2) 35 minute minute halves with a 5 minute halftime. This is a contact game played by the International Youth Rules, which are very close to adult rules but still include adjustments for youth safety. High School Boys and Girls compete in Rookie Rugby with a chance to be crowned Rookie Rugby State Champs.
Qualifications: Boys and Girls 9th-12th are welcome to join. No prior rugby knowledge required.
Time Commitment: The high school season runs practices indoor in January and February and outside March thru May at the Wellness Center Field (next to the Perry Stadium). See practice schedule under "SPRING SCHEDULE" tab. Home matches are held at Perry Stadium. The state championships are held on May 23/24th and HS State Championships on May 31st.

1. Log into Rugby Ohio-Register under PERRY PANTHER RUGBY (not YOUTH)

​​IF you played Fall Rugby in 2025, you will not have to pay the $11 Council Fee or the $24 National Fee=$207.90)

Once registered, the player will be insured to participate in rugby events through August 31st, 2026. Each player will be provided shorts, and warm up tee. The coaches provide jerseys on game day. More than half of this fee covers Rugby Ohio regulations and liability for the player. The only other out of pocket costs would be for cleats and a mouthguard. Rugby Ohio does offer financial assistance to those who qualify. Please contact club President Ashley Grace privately if you need any assistance with fees or gear. PARENTS: We can always use volunteers to help run practices/matches. This is also the easiest way for you to learn the game right alongside your child. Please let us know if you are interested in helping out.​

MIDDLE SCHOOL REGISTRATION

Opportunity: This age group plays Rugby 7's which is a very exciting and fast paced version of rugby. There are 7 players from each team on the field, playing (2) 7 minute halves with a 1 minute halftime. This is a contact game, but with adjustments to the adult rules for the safety of children. Perry Middle School Teams compete in the Rookie Rugby league for a chance to be crowned Rookie Rugby State Champions.
Qualifications: Boys and Girls grades 5th-8th* are welcome to join.
3 leagues are available now for Middle School:
U12-for 5th and 6th graders-Modified Tackle (BOYS ONLY)
U14-BOYS Tackle 7th and 8th
U14-GIRLS Tackle 6th-8th

Cost: Registration for Middle School/Modified has a two step process.
1. Go on Rookie Rugby to register under desired league (U12-U14), pay Rookie Rugby club cost
2. Go on Perry Rugby to pay Perry Rugby MS Club fee for final registration to be complete.

A substantial portion of this fee covers Rookie Rugby's costs to administer the rugby program (insurance policies, etc). Once registered, the player will be insured to participate in rugby events through August 31st, 2025. Each player will be provided shorts and a warm up tee. The coaches provide jerseys on game day. The only other out of pocket costs would be for cleats and a mouthguard.
PARENTS: We can always use volunteers to help run practices/matches. Rookie Rugby does all the training for the coaches. This is also the easiest way for you to learn the game right alongside your child. Please let us know if you are interested in helping out.

This is a non-contact game, for the players to learn and understand the rules for the safety of children. Flag School Teams compete in the Rookie Rugby league for a chance to be crowned Rookie Rugby State Champions.
Qualifications: Boys and Girls grades PK through 5th are welcome to join.
3 leagues are available now for Flag
U6-PK-K
U8-1st & 2nd Grade
U11-3rd through 5th Grade
Time Commitment: The Flag season starts practicing at the beginning of March, and the games start at the end of March. There will be 2 practices a week (Tuesday/Thursday), and 1 game per week on Sunday. The Flag players will play multiple teams per game. See practice and games schedule on the "SPRING SCHEDULE' tab. Home matches are held at Perry Stadium. The state championships are held on a weekend, and there will be a couple of additional opportunities for the kids to participate in other rugby events like our indoor clinics at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Fitness in February and March.
Cost: Registration for Flag has a two step process.
1. Go on Rookie Rugby to register under desired league (U6-U11) pay Rookie Rugby club cost
2. Go on Perry Rugby to pay Perry Rugby FLAG Club fee for final registration to be complete.
Flag Rugby costs $159.87 total
